PQK Lab exists to make inquiry-based STEM concrete: a setting, a friction, a question that evidence could embarrass, and a model that changes after a miss.

Five facts before a conversation.
Standing inquiry training is operating: problem finding, question design, evidence logs, models, builds, and showcases. Field trips, dates, and fees are confirmed after email.
Record friction in a real setting. Separate observation from guess. Narrow a question a short log could actually test. Revise the model after a miss.
Evidence is a dated observation log, a narrowed question, a revisable model, and a showcase that still shows the miss. This site lists no field partners, awards, or enrollment numbers.

Who hosts this inquiry lab

Owner confirmation on 2026-10-04 covers that the practice operates and that info@pqk.org exists. It does not cover named field partners, awards, or enrollment numbers, so those stay off this page.
PQK starts from a worksite, classroom, or other setting where something rubs. It does not start from generated language (HNK), from a buildable constraint (QFP), or from a rerunnable bench test (QKV). Those related projects of the same institution are disclosed above.
Observation, guess, question
Students learn to keep three columns: what was seen, what was inferred, and what is still a wish. A grievance may be true and still too large. A wish may be kind and still untestable. A problem has a setting, a friction, and a possible observation. Only then does question design produce variants a short log could actually embarrass.
- Date and locate every observation.
- Do not promote a guess into a finding by printing it larger.
- Pick the question the available materials can touch this term.
- Revise the knowledge model after a miss. That revision is the learning.
Showcase comes last
A poster that cannot point to a log is advertising. PQK would rather keep an ugly notebook with a live question than a beautiful board with a dead one. Write info@pqk.org with a setting and a first-pass friction, not a title slide.
